I Bless The Dinosaurs Down In Africa

I Bless The Dinosaurs Down In Africa

In a world where anything is possible, do you think any dinosaurs may have survived into present day? Several African tribes seem to think so. There have been several researchers that have traveled to Africa in search for proof of dinosaurs living today.

What is described as a red, featherless, beaked creature with wings spanning five feet or over is said to have been seen in east central Africa. Natives call it Kongamato. If this can only be a dinosaur, only one comes to mind: the pterodactyl.

In 1932, explorer Frank Melland had his book, In Witchbound Africa: An Account of the Primitive Kaonde Tribe and Their Beliefs, published. In it, he talks about how natives could not identify any other dinosaurs that he presented to them. They could, however, describe the pterodactyl.

Another creature, said to be a dinosaur, is Mokele-Mbembe. It is supposedly a large sauropod, which were the long-neck dinosaurs. It is supposed to have brownish-grey skin, and up to 35 feet long. They say it lives along the Congo River basin, and eats elephants, crocodiles, and hippos. Also, it's believed to be very territorial, and will attack humans. So, for a better picture, think of Littlefoot from The Land Before Time...... if Littlefoot were huge, and someone stole his tree star.

There are lots of other types of creatures said to be living in Africa that people claim to be dinosaurs. With all of the unexplored parts of the world, who's to say these people are wrong? I just hope Toto doesn't get eaten on their next visit down there to bless the rains.
